"I realized how impossible it is for people who didn't do these programs to talk about such things even if they have the platform, because they don't have the tools.
Heart to Heart gave me the tools to talk and stand up for myself and my opinions. " - Lina Medlij, Heart to Heart 2012

2025 - Today: University Program
Run in collaboration with Tel Aviv University
Piloted in 2025, this collaboration with Tel Aviv University allows us to share all that Heart to Heart has to offer with a new audience and brings together the best of both academia and informal immersive education. Throughout the spring semester, students participate in an interdisciplinary course entitled "Leadership and Solidarity in the Context of the Conflict" through TAU's faculty of social science. In the summer, they come to Canada for an immersive Heart to Heart program at camp and in Toronto. When they return home, they participate in an integration workshop back at the university and a series of peer-led gatherings throughout the year. The vision for this project was originated by one of our alumni, a student at TAU, who together with other students and faculty were seeking to reduce tensions and cultivate community and collaboration between Jewish and Palestinian students - for many of whom university is the first opportunity in which to encounter each other in a shared context. In this incredibly challenging and urgent period, we see that working with older youth has the power to catalyze impact with greater immediacy. These university students, like their teen counterparts, are open and ready for change, but, unlike teens, they arrive with greater maturity, leadership skills, and agency in their everyday lives. In short, they are young leaders who can take action right now.
